It was a nice day in Munich, Germany – May 16th, 2017 – HCL Informix Technology Day 2017. At the IBM Office in Hollerithstr.
We had a pretty sizeable crowd of passionate clients – or, as someone I know would say – HCL Informix Fan Club! Customers and Partners, who have spent a lifetime working on HCL Informix – among the most passionate and ardent (no pun intended) fans of HCL Informix you would see anywhere in the world. Elizabeth Bach, from my HCL Informix team in Munich, did an excellent job setting up and organizing the event, coordinating it and most importantly, making sure everyone stayed on time! Which I definitely did not. :)
Marcelo Cabane, Senior Director for HCL Informix Go-To-Market and Sales, and I explained the new partnership between IBM and HCL for HCL Informix, went over the benefits and the why, who, when, of the relationship. Of course, there were many questions, which we walked through. At the end of the day the audience was excited and very positive about the new investment in HCL Informix and the opportunities that it will drive. Sure, now it is on us to deliver – which we will.
I went through the latest roadmap for HCL Informix and our vision of the future, and re-iterated our strategic focus areas – relentless focus on Delighting our Client Base, Enhancing our Cloud Services and Growing in IoT. Shawn Moe, HCL Informix Architect, talked about the new capabilities we have added in our latest releases. And there were many other very educating sessions from others in the HCL Informix Team, and some from our clients and partners. We also used the occasion to present Sandar Szabo with this year’s IIUG 2017 Director’s Award for his accomplishments in promoting HCL Informix through his work on HCL Informix Warehouse Accelerator and other areas. Dr. Julio Aspiazu, President of Germany HCL Informix User Group, presented the award, as Sandor could not join us at IIUG 2017 in Raleigh.
It was truly exciting and invigorating to be in such a crowd of diehard HCL Informix users/fans. Thank you!
